  1. I am a Kansas City, Missouri resident and just found out via my credit report that I have a “debt” of around $130 for Hollywood Video which was added to my credit report in October 2010. I never recieved any calls or letters for collection and I have NEVER been to, let alone rented, anything from a Hollywood Video. I’m wondering if I have been pulled into this scam and is there a lawsuit in the works for this? I’m in the middle of fixing my credit and this is NOT helping!

  2. Lindsey,
It is great you are reviewing your credit report! An accurate credit report will ensure creditors receive the proper information regarding your credit. If you believe the Hollywood Video debt is inaccurate, you will need to contact the credit reporting agency and dispute the Hollywood Video debt. Follow the agencies dispute process either online or by mail. You may also want to contact your state’s attorney general’s office to report the possible scam and receive any additional information they can offer.
