STRESS:
a state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or very demanding circumstances.
We want to welcome you to our new Blog — Mom Attorneys Managing Daily Stress.
Economy. Inflation. Struggles with work. How can I care for my children? Aging parents? Leave town for a COVID funeral?
The last two years of pandemic have been so hard and to add insult to injury, now we cringe every time we need to go to the grocery store or gas station.
The stress and anxiety are real. More Americans say that they feel more anxious about inflation, global uncertainty and the war in Ukraine than they have reported feeling about any other issue in recent years. This can be seen in a recent survey by the American Psychological Association:
Not only is stress higher, people are also trying to cope with stress in unhealthy ways. Many are drinking more and experiencing undesired weight changes.
High levels of stress can lead to obesity, heart disease, depression, anxiety disorders, and problems sleeping. When not managed, over time, this can lead to a rise in mortality.
Wow! That’s stressful!
There is good news. People tend to bounce back from temporary stressors AND there are things that we can do to help tap in to our own resilience.
We want to help!
We are all about RELIEF — we talk (a lot) about how we can provide debt relief when you are struggling with your finances. We also take the stress off your shoulders when you are trying to protect your loved ones by crafting your Estate Plan. But we want to look at everyday options, for those everyday stressors so we are starting this Mom Attorneys Managing Daily Stress Blog series in which we will both contribute.
Think of it as a form of social support — a creator of resilience.
